TCN e-Systems' data management and analysis leader, Jaime Cohen, is featured in a front-page interview in the August 18 issue of eCliniqua on TCN e-Systems' Center of Excellence. Cohen describes how the patient recruitment data and expertise in sponsor organizations resides in silos and can't be accessed easily because it is commonly paper-based or in disparate formats. TCN's Web-based Center of Excellence provides sponsors with a framework to store and access existing know-how about patient recruitment across clinical trials, including "lessons learned" from previous studies to inform current and future trials. To build more in-house recruitment knowledge, TCN offers a companion online training product called QuickTrainer, which includes advisor input from BBK Worldwide recruitment experts.

Two large industry sponsors are already building their electronic libraries using the Center of Excellence, which has established categories and information about which documents to import, making ramp-up time quick and easy. Also built-in is the critical "site-readiness index" which addresses the process of activating sites for enrollment and helps sponsors spot bottlenecks and deploy resources effectively.
